New Toy

The new prize of the day is a refurbished iPod Touch 32GB 1G. Debby got her new shiny toy a couple of days ago: the Samsung Eternity touch-screen phone. Now I have a similar new shiny toy and my jealousy has abated.

So far, I have some tunes loaded and have listened both on big headphones and on provided earbuds, which really sound pretty good for what they are. I was surprised.

I connected the iPod to our wireless home network and tried out the browser and interface a bit. I like it as much as I thought I would.

Ben told me about the iBird application, which was the final impetus I needed to purchase this gadget. After purchasing the 2.2.1 firmware upgrade, I was able to purchase iBird. It is really a nice application, slick looking and functional. My genealogy program also makes an iTouch companion app; I have my entire family tree on the iTouch now.

I was going to wear it outside today to prune the roses (better late than never), but the birds were singing loudly, so decided to listen to them instead.

Refer to the iDudes section under Studio pages in my alternate blog for more technical details.

Careful. Once you've embraced the AAC, forever will it dominate your destiny. :-)
