MetaBlog

What is this thing called blog?
I write stuff, it goes up, I read it, others can read it and tell me what they think.
Are there any organizing principles?
Hmmm, maybe labels.
How do they work?
Assign labels to a post. Use the 'edit post' from the dashboard page to view one line summaries of all posts, with labels. Click on label to view all posts with that label. Seems simple enough.
Blog is LIFO only?
Main blog is always most recent post first; however, blog archive can be oldest first, giving a more top-down hierarchy. Hence deciding to limit main view to only the latest post and access all others through the archive.
How to back-up the blog?
Use the export feature to download an .xml version of the entire blog for local storage. Note, export only works in draft mode (meaning logged in to draft.blogger.com). Then it's under the Settings|Basic tabs.

Whoa, a comment received already. Nice.
Perhaps most comments will be of this rhetorical nature from 'stumble-upon' readers - recognition, approval, hello, that sort. A 'welcome' sidebar gadget will serve to acknowledge all such comments. But only substantive comments should be permitted to be posted to the site.
